What Uptop is
Uptop is an onchain rewards platform that turns everyday card purchases into loyalty points for fans, brands and sponsors. Its architecture runs on Avalanche, and it operates as an independent brand under the stablecoin payments company Rain, which acquired it in November 2025.
About Uptop
Uptop (uptop_xyz) is a white-label loyalty platform: partner organizations put their own branding on the front end while Uptop supplies the rewards infrastructure underneath. Fans link a payment card or scan receipts, earn points automatically at participating merchants, and redeem them for tickets, merchandise and experiences. Co-founder John Timoney Gomez, who previously worked on payments at PayPal, now leads business development and strategy at Rain.
Products & Initiatives
The core product is card-linked, receipt-scanned loyalty aimed at sports and entertainment audiences, with stated ambitions to extend into retail, travel and dining. Because the rewards ledger sits on Avalanche, partner organizations can attach sponsor participation directly to fan activity rather than running engagement through disconnected apps.
Partnerships
Uptop powers fan rewards programs for professional and collegiate sports organizations, including Cavs Rewards for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Pistons Rewards for the Detroit Pistons, Geaux Rewards for LSU Athletics and Penn State Rewards for Penn State athletics. The Avalanche Foundation has repeatedly showcased the platform, including at Avalanche Summit.
