Tollan Universe is a competitive action roguelike RPG on Abstract, developed by Foretold Studios. Players battle escalating waves of enemies, chain elemental upgrades, and outlast bosses across runs — blending the "bullet heaven" chaos of survivors-style games with traditional roguelike build variety and high-stakes competitive leaderboards.

What is Tollan Universe

Tollan Universe is the flagship title from Foretold Studios, which rebranded its earlier Tollan Worlds MMORPG project into a focused action-roguelike ecosystem in 2023. The core mode — Tollan Survivors — casts players into arena runs where every session offers a fresh combination of power-ups, enemy compositions, and boss encounters. Fairness is enforced on-chain via Proof of Play's verifiable randomness (vRNG), ensuring unpredictable gameplay elements can be publicly traced and validated.

Gameplay

Each run in Tollan Survivors starts with a bare character and ends in either defeat or a boss kill. Between waves, players choose elemental ability upgrades that stack and synergize, rewarding preparation and adaptation. The game operates on seasonal structures (e.g. Ogre Hunt seasons) with event-specific objectives and ETH-denominated reward tiers. A weekly prize pool — funded by a portion of in-game purchases — distributes ETH rewards into players' Abstract Global Wallets based on leaderboard performance, making every run a real-money competition.

Team & Backing

Tollan Universe is developed by Foretold Studios and published through Warp Chain, a Web3 publishing platform that handles wallet integrations, on-chain identity layers, and player onboarding infrastructure. Yield Guild Games (YGG) has run community quests for Tollan Universe, broadening its player funnel. The game launched on Abstract on December 1, 2025.
