What is MapleStory Universe

MapleStory Universe (MSU) brings Nexon's decades-old MapleStory MMORPG franchise — over 250 million registered users and more than 5B in lifetime revenue — into a Web3 ecosystem with on-chain asset ownership, built by NEXPACE, Nexon's Abu Dhabi-based Web3 affiliate.

How It Works

MSU runs as a custom Layer-1 blockchain built using Avalanche's subnet technology (AvaCloud). Its builder layer includes MapleStory N (the flagship on-chain MMORPG), Synergy Apps, a MapleStory SDK, and a tool called Reactor for third-party developers building inside the ecosystem.

Token & Incentives

MSU uses a dual-token model: NXPC, the primary utility token used for content creation, transaction processing, and item issuance, and NESO as a secondary token. MapleStory N and NXPC launched together on May 15, 2025.

Ecosystem

MSU's pre-launch free NFT mint produced over 1.7 million NFTs, described by Ava Labs as the largest pre-launch activity event Avalanche had seen to that point, reflecting MapleStory's global player base moving on-chain.
