What Upshift is
Upshift is vault infrastructure for stablecoin yield, used by fintechs, payment apps and asset managers to offer onchain returns under their own brand.
What is Upshift
Upshift's docs call it "the operating system for institutional onchain asset management." Teams use it to launch vaults that take deposits and issue a receipt token representing the depositor's position. Yield accrues to the vault's net asset value, so it shows up as a rising share price.
Key Features
Vaults are run by outside curators, such as hedge funds and asset managers. The docs say curators can allocate capital within a vault's mandate but cannot withdraw or access depositors' funds, and a policy engine limits what each account can do. Upshift also offers an SDK and API, so apps can add vaults to their own products, plus USDC credit lines for pre-funding and settlement.
Ecosystem & Backing
Its public vault record shows deployments on Ethereum, Base, Avalanche and BNB Chain, among others. Its X bio names Dragonfly and 6th Man Ventures as backers, and its site lists Kraken, Tria and Ethena Pay (/tags/ethena-pay) as case studies. Ethena Pay's Earn+ product routes deposits into an Avalanche vault built on Upshift and curated by Steakhouse Financial (/tags/steakhouse-financial), with the strategy running on Aave (/tags/aave).
