What Stripe is
Stripe is a payments company that builds financial infrastructure for internet businesses. In crypto it offers stablecoin payments, stablecoin balances and stablecoin payouts, and it backs Tempo, a payments blockchain.
What is Stripe
Stripe processes online payments for businesses of every size and describes itself as building programmable financial services. Its crypto work runs through products such as Stripe Treasury, where a business can hold a stablecoin balance, and Global Payouts, which sends money to recipients worldwide.
Stablecoin payouts
Through Global Payouts, US businesses can send stablecoins to recipients' crypto wallets in more than 160 markets, funded from a USD or USDC balance. Stripe's documentation lists USDC on Arbitrum, Avalanche C-Chain, Base, Ethereum, Optimism, Polygon, Solana, Stellar and Tempo, and OUSD on Base, Ethereum, Solana and Tempo. Stripe says payouts typically arrive within minutes. Businesses located in New York are not yet eligible.
On Base
On November 4, 2026, Stripe's crypto account announced wallet payouts in USDC and OUSD across 160+ markets, and Base lead Jesse Pollak shared it as Stripe adding USDC and OUSD payouts on Base. Base is one of several supported networks, not an exclusive one.
How to describe it
Describe Stripe as a payments company that supports stablecoin payouts on many networks, including Base and Avalanche. It is not a Base-native project. The chain list on this page reflects the networks in Stripe's payout documentation that our registry tracks.
