About Lingo
Last updated Jun 6, 2026
Lingo is the flagship 1v1 word-puzzle game on the Witty platform, running on Abstract. Two players each pay an entry fee, independently guess a hidden 5-letter word in up to 6 attempts, and the player who solves their word in fewer tries wins the combined pot. A single-attempt solve also pays a jackpot bonus from a shared pool seeded by match fees.
Gameplay
Each match is asynchronous — players do not need to be online simultaneously. On each guess, tiles turn green (correct letter, correct position) or orange (correct letter, wrong position). If guesses are tied the tiebreaker runs: most green tiles, then most orange tiles, then a coin toss. Lingo uses Signed Commit-Reveal smart contracts on Abstract so outcomes are publicly verifiable and cannot be altered after a wager is placed.
Economy & Assets
Three wager tiers let players choose their risk: Casual, Shrimp, and Whale, each doubling the pot size. A 5% fee per pot funds the jackpot pool (2.5%) and the protocol (2.5%). The jackpot pool is shared across all tiers, weighted toward higher-stake matches. Players also earn Gems through wins, streaks, and referrals — spendable on in-game cosmetics such as stickers and hints.
Team & Backing
Lingo is built by Witty, the same team behind Moonsheep Cannon. The platform uses the Abstract Global Wallet for social-login onboarding, session keys for transaction batching, and USDC gas payment options, positioning Lingo as a consumer-friendly entry point into onchain gaming.
