On September 16, 2026, during Avalanche Summit New York, the official avax account said Janus Henderson had become a validator on Avalanche and would help secure and operate the network. In October 2026 avax shared a video in which the firm's Nick Cherney said Janus Henderson wants to be the most technologically sophisticated asset manager in the world and that leading in blockchain means investing in the builders and the network behind them.

Partnerships

According to avax, Janus Henderson is an equity investor in Tranched, an onchain credit platform on Avalanche, and will provide anchor capital for Tranched's issuance. The firm has not published its own statement of the validator role, so the Avalanche-side announcements are the primary record for now.
