Gigaverse Names Gigabattler Overall Winner of Its First Community Hackathon

Gigaverse, a browser-based RPG on Abstract, named the winners of its first community hackathon on July 24, crediting 28 submitted projects across "a diverse pool of participants." Gigaverse said it was "very hard narrowing this down, and even harder to pick winners in each category and overall."

The overall winner was Gigabattler, built by NomadTreepwood: a race-management dashboard covering race creation, joining, leaderboards and stats. Gigaverse said it also found GigaMicro tucked inside — a reskin that turns Giglings into miniature cars firing homing missiles — and called it "the kind of unexpected delight that made this the clear overall pick."

Six category winners were named alongside it:

• Community & Social — GigaPrix, built by web3_shadowking, turns individual Gigling races into bracketed tournaments with auto-seeded groups and onchain results, replacing manual tournament tracking.
• Onboarding — Gigus Pursuit, built by stellarhobbes, a hand-painted roguelike built on Gigaverse's existing assets and lore, aimed at players who have never touched a crypto wallet.
• Creative — GigaFashion: Workshop, built by danzo007Crypto, lets players design, publish and rate each other's character looks on a leaderboard, styled after Steam Workshop.
• Novel & Experimental — GFL, or Gigling Fantasy League, built by savino910, a fantasy-sports layer over Gigling Racing — draft a stable under a salary cap, then earn points as those Giglings race, with prizes funded by GigaTerminal.
• Play Tools & Analytics — Paddock, built by BdgeScott, pulls a wallet's full stable into one report, flagging standout Giglings and comparing a player's roster against opponents before a race.
• Developer Integration & Utilities — DaGrid, built by XXchake, handles batch race registration, holdings tracking and hatch results; Gigaverse noted the project keeps its workings visible rather than closed off.

Seven honorable mentions

Gigaverse also named seven projects it did not rank but wanted to recognize:

• GigaHQ (luksqron) — onchain analytics, an egg-hatching calculator and a Telegram race-alert bot.
• Gigling Tactics (web3_shadowking, also behind GigaPrix) — a fan-made trading-card autobattler that turns Gigling Racing NFTs into cards with stats pulled from each pet's race history.
• Race Against Cyclops! (psydotlol) — Giglings that beat a virtual opponent earn raffle tickets toward an end-of-event prize draw.
• Gigling Pocket (0xmarcelocamera) — a Game Boy-styled browser app for watching races and tracking data, in pixel art with chiptune music.
• GigaCast (espress0x) — turns a race replay into a produced broadcast, with a Southern-accented AI announcer and a shareable clip of the final stretch.
• Gigling Sherpa (Cryptopyxie) — a multilingual Telegram bot that pushes race alerts into chat and turns each race into a short prediction game.
• Gigling Racing Helper — a Chrome extension that adds a compact leaderboard inside Gigling Racing's race rooms.

Gigaverse did not disclose a prize pool or dollar amount. Winners and honorable mentions get a special Discord role, and every participant gets a separate one; the team said it will reach out to winners about prizes by email and warned entrants to "be weary of scam messages and impersonators," telling them to double confirm with team members directly.

Gigaverse also flagged that the winning apps sit outside its control. The team wrote that the projects are "third-party initiatives" that "operate outside of our direct control," that Gigaverse "does not endorse, audit, or guarantee their safety, reliability, or security," and that it is "not responsible for any losses arising from their use." It told players to "DYOR" and use their own judgment before connecting a wallet to any of them.

Gigaverse co-founder 0xDith — identified as a Gigaverse co-founder in prior coverage — quote-tweeted the results, calling the field competitive: "We had so many strong entries to our first hackathon it took the team a few rounds of deliberation to lock in the winners."

All but two of the ranked and honorable-mention projects build on top of Gigling Racing, the mode that logged its first week of on-chain activity earlier this month. GigaPrix, GFL, Paddock, DaGrid, Gigabattler, GigaHQ, Gigling Tactics, Race Against Cyclops!, Gigling Pocket, GigaCast, Gigling Sherpa and Gigling Racing Helper are all built around it; only Gigus Pursuit's roguelike and GigaFashion's cosmetics workshop are not.
