How Gigling Racing Works in Gigaverse: A Player's Guide
Gigaverse's Gigling Racing fills up to 8 Gigling slots a race, splits ETH entry fees by a host-set payout, and settles every result onchain via a custom Race Oracle on Abstract.

What it is
Gigling Racing is a standalone racing mode inside Gigaverse, the onchain RPG built by GLHF's GLHFers team and live on Abstract (gigaverse.io). Gigaverse announced the mode for launch in early June 2026, then confirmed it live days later with both free and staked race entries. The mode runs on Giglings — a separate collectible line from Gigaverse's other NFTs — that players trade, hatch, race, and duel to build a competitive stable (giglingracing.com).
How it works / How to start
1. Get a Gigling. Giglings are their own NFT collection, separate from Gigaverse's other assets, buyable on the official OpenSea listing; the "Purchase Gigling" button on Gigling Racing's own site links straight there, and no Gigaverse account is required to browse the client or enter a race.
2. Enter a race. Each race fills up to 8 Gigling slots, and Gigaverse's own posts describe both free and ETH-staked entries — the race's host sets the entry fee, the distance in meters, and whether items are switched on.
3. What decides the finish. Every race rolls four stats fresh off a Gigling's base stats and rarity floor — Start, Speed, Stamina, and Finish — the same "stat reveals" Gigaverse's own launch post named among the mode's features. The track itself is split into stretches tied to Gigaverse's eight factions — Crusader, Overseer, Athena, Archon, Foxglove, Summoner, Chobo, and Gigus — and a Gigling gets a boost crossing ground held by its own faction. Each race also rolls one of three track conditions (cold, average, hot) that some Giglings are built to prefer, and if the host allows items, Dung slows a rival while Butterflies speed up a runner (docs.gigaverse.io).
4. Results settle onchain. Every race is resolved by Gigaverse's own Race Oracle and the result is submitted onchain (docs.gigaverse.io) on Abstract, the chain Gigaverse named at the mode's launch.
5. Breeding more Giglings. New Giglings hatch at the Gigling Egg Hatchery, run by an NPC beside Gigaverse's fishing pond. Hatching costs two soul-bound materials, Biofuels and Incube, pulled from ordinary dungeon drops, and an item called an eggspeditor speeds the process up. Feeding a Gigling produces the same Dung and Butterflies used mid-race — males produce Dung, females produce Butterflies — and higher-rarity Giglings roll extra output (docs.gigaverse.io).
Costs and rewards (as of July 2, 2026)
Entry costs ETH at an amount the race's host sets — Gigaverse's launch posts describe both free and staked entries, and the payout split is host-configurable, with the documentation's own worked example paying the top three finishers 60%, 30%, and 10%. Ahead of launch, egamers.io reported the design returns roughly 90% of a race's collected entry fees to winners overall, with the remainder covering house and protocol fees plus a running jackpot pool.
Giglings themselves currently float a 0.004 ETH floor price across a supply of 28,010 on OpenSea, as of July 2, 2026.
Gigaverse also ran a five-day free-entry stretch, June 23–27, 2026, with two scheduled races a day at 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM UTC that needed a Gigling but no ETH and no Gigaverse account — each win paid 25 dungeon keys redeemable in Cambria, per egamers.io. That window has closed; nothing in Gigaverse's docs or posts says free races run on a fixed recurring schedule now.
What's not live / not published yet
Gigaverse's own launch post lists "derby stubs" among the mode's prizes, but neither the documentation nor any other Gigaverse post explains what a derby stub is or does — treat it as unconfirmed until Gigaverse defines it.
Gigaverse hasn't said whether the free-entry, dungeon-key-reward format run June 23–27 will recur on a schedule or was a one-time launch promotion.
