Cambria Retires Its NFT Collections for $RSGP, Leading an Abstract Catch-Up

Descout's ingestion pipeline went dark from August 22 to September 3, 2026. When it came back online, the freshness gate that blocks anything older than two days from minting as breaking news correctly refused to backfill any of the following as "breaking" — so none of it ran. This is the catch-up: eleven things projects across the Abstract ecosystem posted about themselves between August 24 and August 31, reported now against their original dates.

The most consequential: on August 26, Cambria said it is deprecating game support for its Founders, Cores, and Companions NFT collections — a combined ~$1.6 million market cap, per the post — and folding their functionality into its coming $RSGP token. Holders were set to be snapshotted on Friday, August 28 for an $RSGP allocation "in recognition of the contribution that these assets have had on protocol value," Cambria wrote. The move follows Cambria's August TGE plan for $RSGP, which Descout covered when it was first announced. Cambria's blog describes $RSGP as "the ownership layer of Cambria's economy and ecosystem," used for treasury governance, rewards, and ve-style staking for fee reduction, guild advantages, in-game polling and cosmetics (blog.cambria.gg).

Token pairs and a price step

Elsewhere in Abstract DeFi, Kona shipped two updates in three days. On August 24, Kona Launch added "community IP token pairs," letting users connect memecoins directly to Abstract-native IPs — Abster, God, Cyclops, RETSBA, Polly, and UWU69 were listed as available at launch. Kona's own platform describes itself as a place "to trade, earn yield, and explore experimental DeFi on Abstract" (app.kona.surf). Two days later, Kona said its Kona Kitties NFT collection would step from 2 KONA to 3 KONA within 24 hours, after which it would "unveil the new protocol mechanism built on top of the collection," teased only as "codename tuna". Kona has not said what the mechanism does.

Tournaments and a new mode

FrankyGo partnered with Drop Dead Gorgez on August 24, adding a Supreme Leader skin to Franky's Adventures and opening a five-phase, week-long tournament: players collect apples and bake pies in-game to earn tournament entries, with five winners across the week receiving DDG NFT prizes. It follows FrankyGo's earlier Shredding Sassy skin and three-phase tournament.

Anichess announced its first Gambit Gauntlet on August 27, opening Friday, August 28 at 21:00 HKT / 13:00 UTC: 24 hours of chess with a 50 $CHECK buy-in per match. Every match is 50 points, a three-win streak adds 50 more, and when the clock runs out the top 30 players split a 10,000 $CHECK pool, per Anichess.

Unchained, the pixel dungeon crawler on Abstract, teased a single-player mode on August 30, saying it would let players "run the dungeons over and over again" on their own time, with many players earning tokens and all earning Abstract XP. No launch date was given.

On August 31, Digitoys shipped its mobile app to both major stores — Android via Google Play and iOS via the App Store — carrying its unboxings, Sticker Studio, and Backpack collection features to phones for the first time. Digitoys' Google Play listing confirms the app is live, describing it as "a new way to collect digital toys, stickers, and characters" (Google Play); its App Store listing shows the app free to download with in-app purchases ranging $4.99–$99.99 (App Store).

Platform and collectibles

Abstract's own account said the latest XP update went live on the Portal on August 25, without detailing what changed. The same account congratulated Giga Noob, Gigaverse's IP, on reaching 2.4 million subscribers in ten months on August 24 — a follow-on to Gigaverse's community hackathon coverage from earlier this year.

Pudgy Penguins partnered with toy maker Schleich on August 28, launching a Schleich Collectible Figurines Series 1 line as part of its European expansion, sold exclusively through the Pudgy Penguins Shop, which lists a Pax Pengu & Polly figurine bundle (pudgypenguins.com). It follows Pudgy Penguins' earlier Pengu World Tour meetup series.

Plooshy Island closed the week on August 31 with a visual rebuild: Plooshies across all three collections are now rendered as 3D models built in Blender rather than flat 2D images, with every previously earned Plooshy Point restored. The project said the re-render was "all rebuilt in-house."
