Cambria Ends Blast and Abstract Support Oct. 19: What Stakers Do - Tutorial and guide

Cambria will disable all Blast and Abstract functionality in its game on Oct. 19 at 11 a.m. ET (15:00 UTC), and will sweep any unclaimed Duel Arena stakes left on those two chains into its own treasury the same day. Players with unclaimed stakes can withdraw them themselves until then, or file a claim afterward. This guide covers what moves, what to do and what stops working.

What is changing on Oct. 19

Cambria announced the change on Oct. 15 in a post from @playcambria: "Game functionality will be migrated off of the Blast and Abstract chains on October 19th at 11am ET." The post says game treasuries and unclaimed Duel Arena stakes on those chains will be moved to Base and Ethereum mainnet "to prevent loss," and warns to "expect 30min of downtime during this transition." It adds that contracts for the upcoming Genesis MMO are not yet deployed and will not be affected.

The details are in two pages on Cambria's docs site. The Patch v0.6.4 notes open with "We're sad to hear that both Blast and Abstract are winding down." They say Cambria will disable all Blast and Abstract-related functionality on Oct. 19 at 11 a.m. ET, and that the treasury for Dungeon Key sales will be relocated to Base and Ethereum mainnet before then. After the migration, the notes say, spend tokens will be Base USDC (primary) and Robinhood USDG. The notes also say "nothing much changes on the Cambria game side" because most of the preparation has already shipped.

If you have an unclaimed Duel Arena stake

The Duel Arena wind-down page covers the stakes. Cambria says gameplay support for Duel Arena ended in 2025 and that the contracts have since served only to let players reclaim old stakes: winnings never withdrawn, and refunds from voided or canceled duels. The page says the game processed over $140 million in volume over its lifetime.

There are two paths, depending on timing.

  1. Before Oct. 19: withdraw it yourself. The page directs players with an unclaimed stake on Blast or Abstract to withdraw it at lobby.cambria.gg/claimable-duels before the cutoff.
  2. After Oct. 19: submit a claim. The page describes four steps:
    • Check whether your wallet appears in the snapshot Cambria says it will publish.
    • Open a ticket in Cambria's Discord with the wallet that held the stake, the chain (Blast or Abstract) and a payout address on Ethereum mainnet.
    • Sign a message from the original wallet requesting the stake, using Ethereum verified signatures, and paste the signature into the ticket.
    • Wait for payout. The page says verified claims are paid in ETH on Ethereum mainnet within 30 business days, for the amount shown in the snapshot.

Nothing in the docs says a stake is forfeited if the player misses Oct. 19. The page also warns that Cambria processes claims only through Discord tickets that the player opens, will not DM first, and will never ask for a seed phrase or for funds to "unlock" a claim.

What Cambria does on Oct. 19

According to the wind-down page, the sequence on Oct. 19 is:

  • Duel Arena flows for Blast and Abstract are removed from Cambria's frontends.
  • Cambria records every wallet with an unclaimed stake on the two escrows, and the amount owed.
  • Remaining stakes are withdrawn from the Blast escrow contract (0xC9438f95AA8d9ee1b5edEa15c7fa4B2CAC723dcE) and the Abstract escrow contract (0x682A307E2274C24F305D6a81682A0b5eB7612a7e).
  • The funds are bridged to Ethereum and transferred to the Cambria treasury, and verified claims are paid out of them.
  • The snapshot and the transactions are published.

The tweet says stakes will move to Base and Ethereum mainnet. The docs page names Ethereum only as the destination for the stake funds, and Base only for the Dungeon Key treasury in the patch notes. This guide follows the docs wording for the stakes.

The wind-down page also gives the reason for the timing. It says Blast is winding down, with withdrawals through its interface ending Oct. 26, 2026, after which assets can be pulled only through Blast's bridge contracts on Ethereum. It says Abstract shuts down on Dec. 15, 2026 and that funds not bridged off by then will be inaccessible. Descout has covered that shutdown and the project deadlines around it.

What is not affected

  • Ronin and Base Duel Arena stakes. The wind-down page says the Ronin and Base escrows hold a small residual balance, are not affected, and remain claimable through the frontend.
  • Genesis. Cambria said in the Oct. 15 post that its upcoming Genesis MMO contracts are not yet deployed.

One account warning

The patch notes carry a separate warning for players whose Cambria account has only an Abstract Global Wallet (AGW) and Privy linked. They advise linking another wallet or social login so there is still a way into the Privy wallet if AGW is no longer accessible after Dec. 15. The notes say Cambria will investigate best practice and "create a migration flow if needed before Dec 15th."

Other Cambria dates this week

The Oct. 19 change falls in the same week as Cambria's Genesis charter reveal. @playcambria said on Oct. 16 that Charter Trait docs were live and the reveal would follow the next day at 11 a.m. ET. The Charters page says traits for the 4,096 Founding Charters reveal on Oct. 17 and lists seven starting traits. Cambria founder BEN.ZZZ (cyberpunk) was already posting a holder's roll on Oct. 17, a post @playcambria reposted. Earlier, on Oct. 9, he wrote that the $RSGP token "is coming to Base"; that post gave no date. For the token's opt-in history, see our RSGP guide, and for how other Abstract projects are handling the shutdown, our one-week analysis.

What Cambria has not said

  • The wind-down page's publication step still shows a "[LINK]" placeholder for the snapshot, although a later section links a Google Drive folder as the published snapshot. We did not open that folder.
  • Cambria has not said what the 30 minutes of downtime covers beyond "this transition," or whether it applies to all game modes.
  • The migration flow for AGW-only accounts has not been described.
