The four-day count puts the start of KBW on Sept. 28, aligning with the Sept. 28 to Oct. 2 window previously attached to the project's Seoul schedule. Pudgy Penguins had already outlined a week of events around the conference, including a Huddle gathering with fomo set for Oct. 1 and a Sept. 29 pickleball afternoon with @KASTxyz.

The countdown also lands a day after the project teased a Korean retail push on Sept. 23, posting images of plush keyrings and mini figures alongside a LINE FRIENDS reference. That followed a Sept. 14 partnership with Kung Fu Tea for two branded bubble teas and a Sept. 20 appearance at the LA Toy Fair.

A brand built beyond NFTs

Pudgy Penguins began as an Ethereum collection of 8,888 hand-drawn penguin characters. Since Igloo Inc acquired the project in April 2022, it has moved toward consumer retail, with toys sold at Walmart and Target surpassing 1.5 million units. The project also launched the PENGU token, used for governance and ecosystem utility.

For now, the Sept. 24 post serves as a reminder rather than a new announcement. What remains to be seen is whether the team publishes specific venues, times, or RSVP links for its Seoul events as the conference approaches.
