Pudgy Penguins Amplifies Korea Huddle as Pengu Playground Opens KBW

The quote-tweet from the project's main account followed @PenguAsia's post confirming the activation opens the week. Pengu Playground is the branded space Pudgy Penguins is running in Seoul's Gangnam district, anchored by the return of its Pudgy Popup with plushies and collectibles on offer.

The push marks the latest leg of Pudgy Penguins' Asia expansion. The Ethereum-native collection of 8,888 penguin characters, acquired by Luca Netz in April 2022 and now stewarded by Igloo Inc, has moved well beyond digital collectibles: its physical toys have sold more than 1.5 million units through Walmart and Target, and the project launched the PENGU token for ecosystem utility and governance.

Korea Blockchain Week follows the brand's first Japanese pop-up, which opened at Tokyo Dome City on Sept. 25. Pudgy Penguins has also scheduled a four-day Huddle event series in Singapore from Oct. 6 to 9, timed to Token2049.

For now, attention stays on Seoul, where the project's Korea programming is live and running through the conference.
