Anichess Season 9 Launches With Daily Tournaments and Flexible Play

Anichess (@AnichessGame) has launched Season 9, introducing daily tournaments designed to reduce grinding pressure. The season opens on July 13, 2026, with every result now counting toward the playoff.

Players can compete in two daily events at 09:00 and 21:00 HKT, catering to different time zones. Free events run on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, while Gambit nights take place on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Only the best result each day counts, discouraging repeated grinding in a single day.

"You told us it felt like a grind. Season 9 is daily tournaments you're allowed to skip," the team stated.

Anichess is a Web3 chess game developed by Animoca Brands and Chess.com, endorsed by world champion Magnus Carlsen. It combines classic chess with spell-casting mechanics and is built on Base, with in-game progress tracked via M8 points and the CHECK token powering the Checkmate Ecosystem.
