Bet Smarter: Degen Dice and Death.fun’s New Self-Exclusion Function

Death.fun’s latest game, Degen Dice, brings a new risk-reward element to its gambling ecosystem. Let's take a closer look at the mechanics and also explore the new self-exclusion option recently released.

How It Works

Wagers are paid in ETH and people select up to 10 numbers between 2 and 12. If the dice total matches one of their chosen numbers. Choosing fewer numbers increases the payout multiplier, but once a rolled number doesn’t match, the game ends. Players can change their selected numbers between rolls, adding strategic flexibility and tension to every turn.

Game Mechanics and Blockchain Transparency

If you're new to Death.fun games, Degen Dice operates on blockchain-backed randomness and transparent payout logic, consistent with Death.fun’s other games. Each dice roll is generated through cryptographic hashing and publicly verifiable game seeds, which ensures players can independently verify the outcome fairness. Smart contracts automate wagers, game execution, and payouts, guaranteeing full transparency and trustworthiness.

Calculation of Payouts

Payouts depend on the probability of hitting the selected winning dice totals. The base multiplier is calculated by dividing 36 by the number of ways to win. For example, if you select only the number 7, there are 6 ways to roll a 7 with two dice: (1,6), (2,5), (3,4), (4,3), (5,2), and (6,1). This means the base multiplier is 36 divided by 6, resulting in a 6x multiplier.

After each successful roll, the multiplier for that turn is multiplied by all previous multipliers to form a cumulative multiplier. Finally, a 5% house edge reduces the cumulative multiplier by multiplying it by 0.95, which gives the final payout multiplier. This means that the more successful consecutive rolls a player makes, the greater the potential reward—but with the risk of busting and losing it all.

Responsible Gaming: Self-Exclusion Feature

Death.fun recently added a self-exclusion feature to support responsible gaming. This tool lets players set exclusion periods from a single day to a permanent ban, helping those who struggle with gambling addiction to take control over their play access. Integrated directly into user accounts, this accessible feature sets death.fun apart from it's competitor gambling games in the Abstract ecosystem.

Conclusion

Degen Dice’s gameplay mechanics and the self-exclusion tool strikes a balance between exciting and transparent betting experiences and protective measures for player well-being. This combination showcases the evolution of responsible, transparent blockchain-based gambling.
