YGG Play's July 31 Shutdown: A Game-by-Game Guide

Every YGG Play title hits its deadline July 31: LOL Land and Waifu Sweeper shut down for good, while GIGACHADBAT and Ragnarok Breaker keep running under new studio maintainers — here is what to do before the cutoff.

Yield Guild Games is sunsetting YGG Play, its web3 game-publishing arm, with the transition "complete by August 1," per YGG's own announcement. For players, July 31 is the date that matters: it's the last day the YGG Play platform runs, and the last day to unstake tokens and redeem points in LOL Land and Waifu Sweeper before both games shut down for good. Two other titles under the same umbrella, GIGACHADBAT and Ragnarok Breaker, are not closing — they keep running under their own development studios starting August 1, per YGG Play's sunset guide. The dated timeline

  • July 9, 3:00 PM SGT (already happened): platform quests ended across all YGG Play games, and in-game purchases were switched off for LOL Land and Waifu Sweeper, per YGG's own transition schedule (@YieldGuild).
  • July 31: the final day of platform support. YGG Play's website, its Launchpad, and Community Questing all retire this day, and it's also the last day LOL Land and Waifu Sweeper are playable (YGG Play sunset guide).
  • August 1: GIGACHADBAT and Ragnarok Breaker move to full maintenance by their own studios, with a new reward-redemption flow launching the same day (@YieldGuild).

Per-title disposition

LOL Land — retiring. YGG Play's flagship release closes for good July 31, following in-game-purchase shutoff on July 9 (@LOLLandGame). On July 23, with the deadline eight days out, the game posted a final call telling players not to "leave your hard-earned rewards behind" and to avoid "the last-minute rush" (@LOLLandGame). Waifu Sweeper — retiring. Waifu Sweeper shuts down the same day, July 31, with purchases already off since July 9 (YGG Play sunset guide). The game — which went free-to-play on Abstract in June — posted its own final-week warning on July 23: "The clock is ticking down! [...] Log in to the game and make your final claims before the July 31st cutoff hits" (@waifusweeper).

GIGACHADBAT — continues, new maintainer. GIGACHADBAT keeps running past July 31 under Delabs Games, the studio YGG Play originally partnered with to publish the game on Abstract (YGG). Delabs Games lists YGG as a backer and Gabby Dizon as an advisor on its own site (Delabs Games). Gameplay progress, onchain achievements, and rewards carry over untouched, and a new reward-redemption flow launches August 1 (@YieldGuild).

Ragnarok Breaker — continues, new maintainer. Ragnarok Breaker also continues past July 31, maintained by Planetarium Labs, the Nine Chronicles studio that built it (YGG). The same terms apply: progress and onchain rewards are preserved, with the new redemption flow live August 1 (@YieldGuild).

The platform properties — retiring. yggplay.fun, its Launchpad, associated YGG Play social accounts, and Community Questing (community.yggplay.fun) all retire July 31 (YGG Play sunset guide).

What you need to do before July 31

If you have $LOL staked or point balances sitting in LOL Land or Waifu Sweeper, YGG Play's sunset guide lists two actions due by July 31:

  1. Unstake your tokens. YGG's own transition guidance tells players to manually unstake "via the launchpad and directly in-game well ahead of the deadline" (@YieldGuild).
  2. Redeem your in-game points for $YGG. Both YGG and the individual games recommend exchanging remaining point balances for YGG before the cutoff rather than waiting (YGG Play sunset guide; @waifusweeper).

Neither game specifies the exact in-game menu path — both say only that it happens "directly in the game." Unprocessed balances are captured in a snapshot on the cutoff date and auto-converted or returned to the associated wallet, but "no manual support will be available after this time," per YGG Play's own guide (YGG Play) — which is the practical reason both games' teams keep pushing players to act manually rather than rely on the automatic snapshot.

If you play GIGACHADBAT or Ragnarok Breaker, no pre-deadline action is required — progress and onchain rewards carry over automatically into the new redemption flow on August 1 (@YieldGuild).

What's not answered

Neither YGG's announcement nor either game's own posts address compensation or refunds for the shutdown itself — only the mechanics of converting balances that already exist. LOL Land's Pudgy Penguins-themed board and character NFTs go unmentioned in every source reviewed here; what happens to them after July 31 is not stated. The exact in-game steps for unstaking and redeeming, and the conversion rate or formula the automatic snapshot uses, are also not published.
