Vale Goes Live as Tokenized Stock on Base, Joining Santander and AB InBev

Drafted by the Descout wire deskHow this was made

Brazilian mining giant Vale is now available as a tokenized stock on base, trading as VALEc and held directly in a wallet without a brokerage account. jessepollak, who created and leads the Coinbase-incubated Ethereum Layer 2, amplified the listing on October 28, 2026, writing that "Vale arrived on Base."

A growing Brazilian roster

Santander, AB InBev and Unilever, which @BaseBrasil_ noted have large operations in Brazil, were added to the list alongside Vale in the same post.

Tokenized equities let holders gain exposure to traditional shares through onchain assets rather than conventional brokerage rails. For Base, the additions expand a real-world-asset (RWA) segment that has become a focus for the Ethereum L2 as it courts institutional and regional partners.

Why it matters

Vale is one of Brazil's largest companies and a major global iron ore producer, giving the tokenized lineup a commodity-heavy anchor alongside the consumer and financial names added with it.

@BaseBrasil_ closed its post by asking which Brazilian company users want tokenized next, suggesting further additions are under consideration.
