Pudgy Penguins Pitches Global Retailers at LA Toy Preview

pudgypenguins confirmed on Sept. 15, 2026, that its team is attending the LA Toy Preview, presenting the brand's merchandise line to international distributors and major retailers gathered at the show. The post teased that "2027 is going to be a big year" for the project.
The booth display includes plush toys, blind boxes and keychains bearing the collection's penguin artwork, according to the post's accompanying imagery.
A Retail Push Already in Motion
The appearance follows a run of distribution announcements from the project. On Sept. 3, Pudgy Penguins launched on Faire, giving more than 100,000 specialty retailers worldwide the ability to stock Pengu products in bulk — a move announced by CEO Luca Netz. The brand's schleich collectible figurines were also placed on display at American Dream Mall on Sept. 9, and a beverage partnership with Kung Fu Tea was announced on Sept. 14.
Pudgy Penguins began as an Ethereum NFT collection of 8,888 penguin characters. After Netz acquired the project in April 2022, it was repositioned as a consumer brand rather than a speculative asset. Under Igloo Inc's stewardship, its physical toys have been distributed at Walmart and Target, with more than 1.5 million units sold. The project also issues the PENGU token for governance and ecosystem utility.
A trade preview of this kind is typically where toy brands secure international distribution and retail placement for the following year — making the shout-out to 2027 consistent with a pipeline of products scheduled beyond the current holiday cycle. The project has not disclosed specific retail partners or launch dates tied to the preview.
