OUSD Stablecoin Goes Live on Base as Jesse Pollak Amplifies Launch
A stablecoin called OUSD is now live on base with liquidity available on the network, according to an announcement from Base's official account that Base creator and lead jessepollak amplified on Sept. 30, 2026.
Pollak's boost gives the launch visibility across the Ethereum Layer-2's developer and user base. He created Base, the network incubated by Coinbase, announced it publicly in February 2023 and continues to lead its development at Coinbase. He frequently amplifies launches on the network, recently highlighting Morpho's stock-backed lending markets and Revert's 25,000 USDC rewards program for tokenized stock liquidity providers.
Stablecoins on Base
Stablecoins have become a core category on Base, which has positioned itself as a venue for onchain payments and financial applications. The launch post did not include details on OUSD's issuer or reserve backing, and no supply or liquidity figures were provided.
What to Watch
The immediate question is how quickly OUSD accrues liquidity and integrations across Base's decentralized exchange and lending venues, where depth determines whether a stablecoin is usable for trading and collateral. Also worth watching is whether the issuer publishes reserve attestations, a standard disclosure for fiat-backed stablecoins. For now, the launch is confirmed only by Base's own account and Pollak's amplification.
