GUGO Opens Captain's Bitácora With Nine-Rank Pirate System

RunWithGugo opened The Captain's Bitácora on Aug. 6, introducing a pirate-themed rank and rewards system for the GUGO community on Abstract.

The system starts every sailor at the lowest of nine ranks — Stowaway — with no hat, crew, or name. Advancement requires completing three orders per rank: recruiting new members, filling the ship's hold, and maintaining weekly activity. Clearing a rank unlocks three chests (wood, silver, gold) from which players pick one. Miles rewards pay out immediately, while GUGO arrives after the crew settles.

The update also adds 36 selectable epithets, such as Barba de Oro and El Tuerto. Users who hold a GUGO NFT can display their face on the ship's log. No prior rank or hat is required to join.

GUGO is a meme token ecosystem on Abstract built around its running duck mascot and "We just run" mantra. The project relaunched in early July with an animated series and its Miles on-chain rewards engine.
