Gigaverse fixes score bug in The Awakening, boosts prize pool to $30K

On Aug. 12, 0xdith, co-founder of Gigaverse, announced that a bug impacting player scores in The Awakening event has been found and fixed. The team has reset the leaderboard to apply the correction and increased the event's prize pool to 30,000.

The Awakening is a live event in Gigaverse, a crypto RPG built on the Abstract blockchain. The event, which features dungeon and fishing updates, was teased on Aug. 5. 0xdith did not specify the nature of the bug, but the reset aims to ensure fairness for all participants.

Gigaverse is part of the Abstract ecosystem and grew out of GLHFers, a gaming community on Ethereum. 0xdith previously held roles at Stripe and Proof of Play.

Players can now compete for the expanded 30,000 prize pool on the corrected leaderboard, with rankings reflecting the fix.
