Base to Host DevCon Mumbai Workshops, Including B20 Token Standard Session
Base is hosting a series of workshops at DevCon in Mumbai on November 3, 4 and 5, with one session dedicated to "B20," described in the announcement as "Base's native token standard." The schedule was posted by baseposting on October 27 and amplified by Base lead jessepollak on October 29, 2026.
The November 3 session, led by Youssef from Base DevRel at the Jio World Centre, covers compliance controls, role management, transaction memos and supply caps, and includes a live demo of a stablecoin paying its own gas. A November 4 workshop covers Denim, Base's fourth network upgrade, and a November 5 workshop covers Money Legos. Office hours run November 3 to 5, with Base Booth Day and Base Builder Demo Day on November 6.
B20 is a token standard, not a network token. Base explained it in a Sept. 16 thread as a way to create and manage tokens, and its Cobalt upgrade added B20 enhancements on Sept. 30. Base, the Ethereum Layer-2 network incubated by Coinbase and built on the OP Stack, has no native token, and network fees are paid in ETH.
What to Watch
DevCon Mumbai gives Base a venue to walk builders through the standard ahead of the network's Denim upgrade, which is set to cut block times to 200ms on November 5. Developers attending the sessions should expect implementation guidance rather than a product launch, based on the agenda as posted.
