Base Opens Season 2 of Builder Grant Program With $5K Grants
base has opened Season 2 of its Builder Grant Program, offering developers $5,000 grants to build on the Ethereum Layer-2 network. The announcement was retweeted by Base lead jessepollak on Oct. 27, 2026.
The program provides seed capital to teams shipping on Base, which is incubated by Coinbase and built on the OP Stack. Base directed interested builders to an application link alongside the Season 2 opening.
Building on a prior round
The new season follows the original Builder Grant Program, which Base announced in August 2026 with up to $5,000 in seed capital per recipient. Base has run several parallel funding tracks this year, including an ecosystem fund that backed more than 30 teams and the Batches 004 cohort, which carried a $1 million pool for 10 teams.
Base has positioned developer funding alongside a broader product push in recent months, including tokenized equities, stablecoin yield and lending through Earn & Borrow, and agentic payments built on the x402 protocol with USDC.
Season 2 details beyond the grant size — including the number of awards, application deadlines, and selection criteria — were not specified in the announcement. Builders can apply through the link shared by base.
