Avalanche Helicon Mainnet Upgrade Requires Node Update by Sept 22

Drafted by the Descout wire deskHow this was made

The Avalanche network is moving to a new era. avaxdevelopers has released AvalancheGo v1.15.0, the Helicon mainnet version, with a mandatory activation deadline of 11 AM ET (3 PM UTC) on September 22, 2026.

Nodes that do not upgrade to a Helicon-capable version by that time will lose the ability to follow the network, the team warned in the release notes.

Helicon introduces several Avalanche Community Proposals (ACPs) that were previously activated on the Fuji testnet, including ACP-194 (Continuous Execution), ACP-236, ACP-273, ACP-283, ACP-285, and ACP-267. These changes aim to improve execution, interoperability, and network efficiency.

Validators and infrastructure operators should update their software immediately to avoid disruption. The release is available on the official AvalancheGo repository.

With the Helicon upgrade, Avalanche continues to evolve its Layer 1 ecosystem, bringing new capabilities to builders and users ahead of the September 22 activation.
