Anichess is hosting a free playoff qualifier tournament on August 5 with a 300 CHECK prize pool. The event runs from 13:00 to 15:00 UTC and is open to all players at no cost. Spells are dealt at random, and the time control is 5+3 minutes. Results count toward the season playoff.

The tournament was announced by @AnichessGame on X. The top five finishers will split the 300 CHECK prize pool and earn a spot in the Major Playoff.

Anichess is a Web3 chess game from Animoca Brands and Chess.com, endorsed by five-time world champion Magnus Carlsen. It combines classic chess with a magic-formula system that introduces unpredictability. The game is built on Base and integrated with Abstract's ecosystem, with CHECK serving as the strategy token for the Checkmate Ecosystem.
