The Plooshies Seeks New Owner as Founder Steps Back After Revenue Shortfall

The Plooshies, a Web3 gaming and IP brand on Abstract built around 3,333 fully animated 3D characters, is seeking a new owner, operator, or strategic partner after revenue proved insufficient to sustain the project, the team announced in a thread on July 9, 2026.

In the announcement, the project said that by late April 2026 it had become clear that revenue from its market and products alone could not cover team and infrastructure costs. A potential owner emerged about three weeks earlier but did not work out, and the search continues. The team said it aims to confirm a new owner, operator, or sustainable operating model by September 30, 2026, and pointed interested parties to @Zaswissguy_eth via direct message.

Founder Viktor is stepping back from daily management as part of the transition, the project said. He will step away from day-to-day X and Discord activity but remains in direct contact with the team to help identify a person, team, or partner to carry the project forward, and has not fully exited.

The Plooshies, founded in June 2022, anchors casual games including Plooshy Island and Plooshy Pile Up. In the same July 9 update, the team said Plooshy Island — its flagship hyper-casual open-world game — is close to launch, citing high-six-figure investment across 2025 and 2026 and completed infrastructure, a vesting system, an in-game bridge, deployed smart contracts, and a token, with beta testing conducted in April 2026. The project described the game as "a few steps from launch-ready" even as it searches for a new operator to sustain it.
