Ronin's POD System Update Credits Projects for Active Users, Drops RON Requirement

Ronin Network has updated its Proof of Development (POD) system to credit projects for both active and new users that pay fees to the Ronin treasury, co-founder @Jihoz_Axie announced today.
The change replaces a previous requirement that only counted users holding an arbitrary amount of 10 RON. The new system is designed to better reflect user engagement and contribution to the network.
"We've deployed an update to the POD system," @Jihoz_Axie wrote in a post on May 21, 2026. "We're now crediting projects for both active and new users that pay fees to the Ronin treasury. The former definitions only counted users that were holding an arbitrary amount of RON (10 RON)."
According to @Jihoz_Axie, the optimization was informed by user and builder feedback, AI-powered analysis, and first-principles thinking. The update aims to align incentives more closely with actual network activity rather than static token holdings.
Background: The POD system is a mechanism on Ronin, the Ethereum sidechain built by Sky Mavis, the studio behind Axie Infinity. It rewards developers and projects for contributing to network growth. The update is part of ongoing efforts to refine the ecosystem's incentive structures.
This adjustment follows recent developments in the Ronin ecosystem, including work on Axie terrariums and other community-driven features. The change is expected to encourage more active participation from builders and users alike.
