Pudgy Penguins Crosses 120 Billion Views on GIPHY

pudgypenguins announced on Oct. 11, 2026 that its content on GIPHY has surpassed 120 billion cumulative views. The figure covers the collection's library of animated penguin GIFs distributed through the platform's search and sharing tools, which place the artwork in front of users who may have no exposure to crypto or NFTs.

The milestone adds a distribution metric to a brand that has spent the past several years pushing beyond digital collectibles. Pudgy Penguins is a collection of 8,888 penguin NFTs on Ethereum that Luca Netz acquired in April 2022 and repositioned as a consumer brand. Under Igloo Inc., the project expanded into physical retail, with toys sold at Walmart, and later launched the PENGU token.

GIPHY is one of the largest GIF search and sharing services, and brands use it to keep their characters in circulation across messaging apps and social platforms.

The announcement comes during a busy stretch for the project. Pudgy Penguins made its New York Comic Con debut inside Walmart's official booth earlier in October, and branded drinks rolled out at Kung Fu Tea locations nationwide. The team is also promoting a Shanghai Huddle event set for Oct. 17, 2026.
