Nevada Athletics Launches Wolf Pack Rewards on Avalanche
The University of Nevada, Reno is launching Wolf Pack Rewards, a fan engagement and loyalty program built on Avalanche by uptop_xyz, a raincards company, avax announced on Sept. 11, 2026.
The program is designed to extend Nevada Athletics' relationship with Wolf Pack fans past game day, packaging rewards around tickets, merchandise, experiences and sponsor activations into a single year-round offering.
How it works
Uptop operates as a white-label loyalty platform: partner organizations brand the front end while Uptop supplies the onchain rewards infrastructure underneath, running on Avalanche. Fans link a payment card or scan receipts, earn points automatically at participating merchants, and redeem them for tickets, merchandise and experiences.
Rain, a stablecoin payments company, acquired Uptop in November 2025; Uptop continues to operate as an independent brand under it. Co-founder John Timoney Gomez, previously in payments at PayPal, leads business development and strategy at Rain.
The Nevada launch follows a comparable rollout at the University of Memphis, where GoTigersGo Rewards debuted on Avalanche on Sept. 10, 2026 — one day before Nevada's announcement. Both programs run on the same Uptop stack, pointing to a multi-school push across college athletics.
What to watch: whether additional athletics departments sign on, and how the programs convert card-linked spending into measurable ticket and merchandise revenue.
