Maze of Gains Patch Retires Throne, Redirects Value to Bounty Gems

Maze of Gains has retired The Throne, redirecting the endgame mechanic's entire value into Bounty Gems, according to the weekly stats and patch notes published by onchainheroes on Sept. 24, 2026.
The Throne had functioned as a full-clear objective in the onchain roguelike dungeon crawler, which runs on Abstract and pits every run against a shared weekly ETH prize pool. Its removal moves that value into the Bounty Gems system, changing how players are incentivized to complete deeper runs.
Corn Expiry and Last Stand Buff
The same patch sets a hard deadline on Corn: holdings go bad during the final 24 hours of Deed Season, giving players a narrow window to turn items in before the event closes. The notes also buff Last Stand — when the revive mechanic triggers, players now ignore all remaining damage for the rest of the run — alongside a set of fixes and improvements.
Deed Season launched on Sept. 17 with 850 whitelist spots for the Deed mint, an 11-day competition around the game's Yield Fields. With four days remaining as of the Sept. 24 update, the season is entering its closing stretch.
What to Watch
The Throne's retirement reshapes one of Maze of Gains' longest-running progression hooks. How the absorbed value affects Bounty Gem yields — and how players respond before Corn expires — will play out over the final days of Deed Season.
