Kona Lend Reclaims $1M Market Size on AbstractChain
Kona Lend, the lending product from omnichain consumer DeFi protocol @KonaDeFi, has reclaimed $1 million in total market size on abstractchain, the team reported on Aug. 21. The milestone reflects a rebound in activity, with the protocol now facing borrowing demand that outpaces available stablecoin supply.
The team is encouraging users to deposit stablecoins into Kona Lend, which offers supply yield plus Kona Points. Kona Points are part of the broader KONA ecosystem, which spans Abstract, Solana, and Robinhood Chain via an OFT bridge.
Kona Lend is a core component of Kona's DeFi suite, designed for a mainstream audience. On Abstract, it benefits from gasless transactions and sub-second finality, making small-scale lending and borrowing economically viable. The KONA token governs the protocol and shares fee revenue with stakers.
The 1M market size marks a notable step for Abstract's growing DeFi ecosystem, but Kona says stablecoin liquidity remains the key constraint for expanding lending capacity. More deposits would allow the protocol to meet demand and potentially grow further.
