Hanwha Investment & Securities Builds Tokenization Platform on Avalanche

Hanwha Investment & Securities, a subsidiary of the 200 billion South Korean conglomerate Hanwha Group, is building its new tokenization platform on the Avalanche blockchain, avax announced on Sept. 7.
The platform will enable the tokenization of traditional assets, connecting institutional finance to blockchain rails. The move aligns with South Korea's broader push to bring all types of securities onchain, following the Financial Services Commission and Korea Securities Depository's recent initiative to move stocks, bonds, and funds onto Avalanche, announced on Sept. 4.
"Korea's next generation of financial markets is being built on Avalanche," the avax account stated in the announcement.
The development marks another major institutional adoption for Avalanche, which has seen a surge in real-world asset (RWA) tokenization activity. Earlier this year, the network hosted tokenized funds from Neuberger Berman and a payments collective involving WisdomTree and Franklin Templeton.
Hanwha's entry into tokenized capital markets reflects growing demand from traditional finance for scalable blockchain infrastructure.
