Fugz Nears 10K Unique Holders, Founder Stresses Distribution

Fugz founder yotdog69 said the project is approaching 10,000 unique holders across the Fugz ecosystem, using the milestone to stress the importance of collector distribution in NFT projects.

The comment came on Aug 13, 2026, in response to OpenSea's removal of the unique holders data point from its marketplace. yotdog69 called the decision "interesting," and distinguished between short-term metrics and durable growth.

"Volume comes and goes. Listings change overnight," he wrote. "A broad, engaged collector base is much harder to build, and much more valuable for the long-term health of a project."

Fugz is a 5,555-piece NFT collection of Fuzzy Gophers, currently on Ethereum after migrating from Abstract in April 2026. The project is known for its GIF and meme culture, with its animated characters amassing over a billion views on Giphy. Fugz operates under @FugzOfficial and recently launched a V2 Collector Hub to build ranks through rare traits, badges, and community participation.

The founder's remarks reinforce the project's focus on community growth rather than floor-price speculation. With the collector base nearing five figures, Fugz continues to expand its IP reach beyond the NFT market itself.
