base announced on Aug. 3 that it has shipped two upgrades since migrating to the Base Stack, with a third upgrade planned for September. The post attaches a roadmap image showing codenames AZUL and BERYL for the two shipped upgrades, with the upcoming release codenamed COBALT. Base did not itemise what each upgrade changed.
The roadmap dates AZUL to May and BERYL to June; the September timing for COBALT comes from the post text.
Base is Coinbase's Ethereum Layer-2 network, led by Jesse Pollak. It operates without a native token, with transactions paid in ETH. The Base Stack is the network's own client software, which it moved to from the OP Stack it previously shared with the Optimism Superchain.
