Axie MMO Atia's Legacy Teases PVP Playtest With FFA Battles
Axie Infinity co-founder jihoz_axie has shared a first look at the upcoming PVP mode for Atia's Legacy, the Axie MMO currently in development. The feature will allow players to select an axie, queue up, and battle it out in a free-for-all (FFA) format.
A video snippet attached to the announcement shows an early iteration of the PVP arena, though attacks have not yet been implemented. The footage provides a glimpse of the gameplay environment and movement mechanics ahead of the next playtest.
jihoz_axie, co-founder of Sky Mavis — the studio behind Axie Infinity and the Ronin Network — has been actively working on Atia's Legacy as part of the studio's broader push into Web3 gaming. The MMO represents a significant evolution from the original turn-based Axie Infinity battles, offering a persistent, real-time multiplayer world.
The move comes as interest in player-owned economies continues to grow, with Axie Infinity's ecosystem now spanning multiple games and the AXS and RONIN tokens. No exact date for the next playtest has been announced, but the preview signals that PVP gameplay is nearing a testable state.
