Avalanche Says UAE PASS Digital ID Now Serves 12M+ Users

avax said on Sept. 22 that the United Arab Emirates' national digital identity system, UAE PASS, is using Avalanche and now serves more than 12 million people, positioning the network as infrastructure for governments at international scale.

The post is the first user-count milestone Avalanche has attached to the UAE deployment since news of the national digital ID deal surfaced in mid-September. Descout previously reported that Avalanche had landed the UAE digital identity arrangement alongside a Michigan college fan rewards program on Sept. 16.

UAE PASS is the UAE's official digital identity platform, used by residents to authenticate across government and private-sector services. Avalanche's claim places the identity workload on its own network rather than a third-party chain.

An institutional run

The identity milestone lands during a dense stretch of enterprise and institutional announcements from the Avalanche account. In the same week, the network activated its Helicon upgrade on the C-Chain mainnet, bringing continuous execution and auto-renewing staking, while Paxos went live on Avalanche with regulated rails for 650+ institutions, Aave v4 selected Avalanche as its first expansion chain, and 807B manager NYLIM brought a tokenized high-yield bond fund onchain through Centrifuge.

The Sept. 22 post did not include a link to independent verification of the 12 million figure, and neither UAE PASS nor UAE government officials have publicly confirmed the deployment's chain in the post itself. Readers should treat the user count as Avalanche's own disclosure.
