Avalanche Launches Payments Collective With WisdomTree, Franklin Templeton, and Others - Abstract blockchain breaking news

Avalanche (avax) unveiled the Avalanche Payments Collective on Aug. 20, 2026, a new initiative uniting major financial and crypto firms to streamline global money movement on the Avalanche network.

The collective spans stablecoins, settlement, foreign exchange, treasury management, and payout infrastructure. Participants include asset managers WisdomTree, Franklin Templeton, and VanEck, alongside crypto platforms such as Kraken, Anchorage Digital, Paxos, and Ethena. Other members include AGORA, RAIN, StraitsX, Core, Axiym, Rise, Dakota, Lynq, Tassat, Zerohash, Settl., Nonco, Aeratech, Oatfi, Brale, Meshpay, OpenTrade, NHN KCP, Request, Grove, and Kite.

The announcement follows a period of rapid growth in real-world asset (RWA) activity on Avalanche. On Aug. 14, 2026, the network reported 365.29 million in 30-day RWA transfer volume, a 360% increase driven by tokenized funds, equities, treasuries, and private credit. Just two days before the Payments Collective launch, Avalanche brought Neuberger Berman's tokenized high-yield fund onchain in partnership with Securitize.

The Payments Collective positions Avalanche as a unified settlement layer for both traditional finance and crypto-native payment rails, aiming to reduce friction in cross-border and institutional money movement.
