Avalanche Turns Six as Ethena Pay Confirms Avalanche-Only Build

Crypto's total market cap reclaimed $3 trillion over the weekend, with bitcoin holding near $86,000-$87,000 and spot bitcoin ETFs logging roughly $1 billion in a single day — the largest inflow in 11 months. Avalanche's own headline was not a price move but a birthday: the network turned six on Sept. 21, and the anniversary post from avalanche-foundation doubled as a status report on payments, builder programs and a stablecoin integration.

Ethena Pay Confirmed as Avalanche-Exclusive

Ethena CEO Guy Young said Ethena Pay is built exclusively on Avalanche, describing it as "almost invisible infrastructure" designed for real-world payments. The avalanche-foundation account amplified the positioning in its Sept. 21 anniversary post, pairing it with a thank-you to the community.

The claim matters for a chain whose consumer-payments pitch has leaned on institutional rails rather than retail volume. It also lands days after Paxos went live on Avalanche, connecting what the company said were 650+ institutions, 470M+ end users and $18B in custody to avalanche-foundation and Avalanche-native USDC — a pairing of a crypto-native stablecoin issuer with a regulated one.

Team1 Chapters Line Up a Dense Builder Week

Team1 Türkiye (team1-turkiye) will gather 50 builders in Bursa from Sept. 25-27 for a three-day Seed Sprint residency, run alongside OKX Türkiye within the Avalanche ecosystem. It is the second residency announcement in a week, following the Seoul program.

Team1 Korea (team1-korea) will host Crypto House Seoul '26 on Sept. 28 at WeWork Seolleung II during Korea Blockchain Week, with two keynotes, one panel and an hour of networking. Separately, team1-korea posted a brief endorsement of Team1 on Sept. 20 that drew 15 likes.

Team1 LatAm (team1-latam) teased an online workshop for Sept. 24 on verifying AI agents on-chain. The three chapters — Türkiye, Korea, LatAm — now have dated events inside a six-day window.

Pharaoh Pitches Tokenized U.S. Equities on the C-Chain

Pharaoh Exchange outlined plans to bring tokenized U.S. stocks to Avalanche with 24/7 trading connected to onchain liquidity on the C-Chain DEX, a plan team1 called a welcome development for the ecosystem on Sept. 20.

Tokenized equities remain a small corner of Avalanche's RWA activity, which has centered on identity and institutional custody — the UAE PASS Digital Vault integration with TDRA and Deca4, and the Paxos launch. Pharaoh's proposal adds a trading venue to that stack rather than a new issuer.

Bloxtel Puts 5G Infrastructure Onchain

Bloxtel announced AP 201, bringing private 5G radio, core network and edge computing infrastructure onchain via Avalanche, per team1-turkiye on Sept. 19. The product targets private-network deployments rather than consumer connectivity.

Avalanche TVL stood at $630.2M with $214.36M in 24-hour DEX volume. Aave V3 accounted for $342.83M of that TVL on Avalanche; Uniswap V3 held $3.97M. Among Avalanche-native assets, $BTC.b gained 1.4% and $COQ added 1.0%, while $WAVAX fell 3.8%, $PNG dropped 3.0% and $XAVA slipped 1.2%. $sAVAX was flat.

The broader market's risk appetite — oil falling on signals Iran may reopen the Strait of Hormuz, bitcoin dominance stalling below 60% — did not translate into a broad Avalanche token rally. The chain's own top gainers were limited to wrapped bitcoin and a memecoin.
