Hanwha Builds Tokenization Platform on Avalanche

Hanwha Investment & Securities, part of a $200B Korean conglomerate, is launching a tokenization platform on Avalanche to bring traditional assets onchain, according to an announcement published September 7. The move puts one of South Korea's largest financial groups directly onto Avalanche infrastructure for real-world asset issuance.

The Hanwha build follows Ethena Pay's neobank launch on Avalanche and tokenized assets on the chain approaching $2 billion, with 724 U.S. stocks available via Dinari. On the lending side, Aave V3 holds $270.17M on Avalanche and Grove Finance $262.21M, per ecosystem data. Chain TVL sits at $489.8M with $109.52M in 24-hour DEX volume.

Helicon Upgrade Sets September 22 Node Deadline

AvalancheGo v1.15.0 Helicon released for mainnet on September 8. Node operators must upgrade before 11 AM ET on September 22, 2026 to stay synced. The deadline is the most concrete near-term operational requirement on the network's calendar.

Ava Labs Takes Convergence Case to Bloomberg

Morgan Krupetsky of Ava Labs (ava-labs) appeared on Bloomberg Crypto on September 8 to discuss how TradFi, DeFi, and CeFi are converging onchain via Avalanche. The same day, ava-labs posted that the three financial worlds are converging and positioned Avalanche as the bridge between them.

Avalanche's account also promoted John Nahas's upcoming Summit talk on why institutions are embracing purpose-built chains built around their own products and requirements.
